Time out? Both presidential campaigns have agreed to freeze their TV advertising next Thursday in honor of the seventh anniversary of 9/11. Senators Obama and McCain will also make a joint visit to Ground Zero before heading uptown for the debateService Nation forum at Roone. Every photo-op counts at this point, since McCain now has a razor-thin lead in the RCP average–his first since April.

“Obama is an elitist; so of course he’s not going to mention Columbia. He only mentions his fancy prep school in Hawaii or ivy-league Harvard.”

This probably deserves its own post. For the weirdness factor only–not because this has any relevance to Columbia, the presidential race, or anything of even the remote importance. As background: Root, CC ‘83, is arguably one of the slimiest people on Earth.
