The Commentariat is hosted by SpecBlogs, a blog network run by the Columbia Daily Spectator. The network features various blogs from each section of the paper. Most of the content can only be found online, and Spec is always looking for new writers for each of our publications… especially web-only content. To write for the Commentariat, e-mail SPECOPINIONBLOG@COLUMBIA.EDU!
Armin Rosen

Sarah Cohler
As one of the few conservative voices on campus, I often blog about important political issues that otherwise would go unnoticed, like “what is the white stuff in bird poop?” (it’s actually just bird poop) or “Why do firemen wear red suspenders?” (OK, the jury’s still out on that one…) Oh, and I’m also the Online Deputy Editor of Content, which basically means that … I am the walrus. Ku-ku-kachoo. But most importantly, this technogeek is right as usual.

Vesal Yazdi
Vesal Yazdi is a first-year at Columbia College. Having quit pre-med wondering why he ever started it, he now plans to major in economics. Yes, he plans to pursue a “life” working for The Bank. Little does this boomerang-throwing, scuba-diving, kangaroo-riding, volcano-luging, shark diving, first-year know that the world of corporate America is cold. Very cold. In his spare time he enjoys serenading (to himself) on the piano, playing soccer with his “mates” and using his accent to get what he wants.
Gina Sweeney
student, thinker, artist, writer.
The Big Bad Wolf
Avid reader, hedonist, unapologetic geek.
Corydon Shea
I am a graduate student at TC. I enjoy writing from a personal perspective about politics, the arts, and the queer community.
