Bring on the Weekly Shampoo

By: Vesal Yazdi at 11:04 am

For those who continue adhering to their strict daily shampoo schedule, stop now. Gone are the days of taming the after-shampoo frizz! Rejoice in the new trend of shampooing once… weekly. The rationale behind it is that you allow the natural oils from your scalp run through your hair, leaving it feeling slightly “unclean”, but looking smoother, shinier and healthier. However, I do make a strong caveat by saying that this doesn’t mean you shower once weekly. Just don’t wash your hair every time you shower. Heralding this movement are some big names in the hair industry, including some Manhattan salons like Bumble and Bumble and Devachan. This widespread move certainly goes against the grain and trichologists, people who have somehow decided to dedicate their lives to the study of hair, have opposed changing the daily ritual.

Bring on the Weekly Shampoo

  1. you sure you didn’t just post this to have “shampoo commercial girl” front and center? ;)

  3. …I don’t know, Ves. Of all the images you could of posted, you had to put this one? I find your motives highly suspicious. Why not an innocent bottle of shampoo, or possibly a shower cap?

P.S. Why is she so happy to be washing her hair? I rarely burst into laughter while shampooing. Am I doing something wrong?
